Stamina Supplements for Running and Cycling: Evidence
For runners and riders, the sources we verified support very little. One maca review included a trial in healthy cyclists, and ashwagandha evidence for athletic performance is called insufficient. Caffeine has a clear safe range. Training, sleep and food do most of the work, and we found no verified source that says otherwise (Shin 2010, Maca systematic review) (NCCIH, Ashwagandha) (FDA, Caffeine).

What do stamina supplements for running promise?
They promise more energy, less fatigue and a longer effort.
The same words are used for stamina supplements for cycling. The FDA does not approve dietary supplements before they are sold (FDA, Q&A on dietary supplements). A company may describe how an ingredient affects normal body structure or function, but that is not proof it works (FDA, Structure/function claims). The FTC says advertisers need competent and reliable scientific evidence for health claims (FTC, Health Products Compliance Guidance).
Ask what was studied, in whom and at what dose.
What did our sources find for endurance?
Our sources are not a full sports nutrition review. We make no claim about products they do not cover.
| Ingredient | What the source says | Endurance claim supported? |
|---|---|---|
| Maca | A systematic review found four randomized trials, one in healthy cyclists (Shin 2010, Maca systematic review); MSK says few small human trials exist (MSK, Maca) | No firm conclusion from what we read |
| Ashwagandha | Evidence is insufficient for athletic performance (NCCIH, Ashwagandha) | No |
| Caffeine | 400 mg a day is not generally linked to harm in most healthy adults (FDA, Caffeine) | Source covers safety only |
| Green tea extract | Liver injury has been reported with extract supplements (NIH LiverTox, Green tea extract) | Source covers safety only |
| L-arginine | Studied for erectile dysfunction in small trials (Koolwal 2019, L-arginine and ED) | Not for endurance in our sources |
We do not report the cyclist trial result, because our source summary does not state it.
How much is in a Stallion Power gummy?
The label prints one blend of 82 mg for the whole gummy. Maca is in place two. By the label order rule it weighs at most 41 mg, and the tighter ceiling is 33.5 mg (21 CFR 101.36, Supplement Facts). That is arithmetic on a printed label, not a lab result, and a real gummy can hold less. We found no maca dose in our sources to compare it with. See the maca page.
The caffeine is printed at 5 mg. A 12-ounce green tea has about 37 mg (FDA, Caffeine). Neither amount is an endurance dose.
Stallion Power is sold for male performance and confidence. It is not a sports product, and we do not suggest it for a race or a ride.

See packsWhat builds endurance before any supplement?
The sources we read on this are about general health, not sport. Harvard Health links regular physical activity, a healthy weight and good nutrition to lower rates of erectile problems (Harvard Health, ED). NIDDK also lists being more active and eating a healthy eating plan as lifestyle steps (NIDDK, ED treatment).
- Build weekly volume slowly, with easy days between hard ones.
- Sleep enough to recover.
- Keep caffeine near or below the FDA figure.
- Stop and see a doctor for chest pain, fainting or a racing heart.
If you take medicines or have a medical condition, ask a doctor before any supplement. NCCIH gives the same advice (NCCIH, Using Dietary Supplements Wisely).
